NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, previously housed at 199 Main St., has relocated to 59 Winter St., former site of the Stephens Memorial Hospital human resources department.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to remain on the SMH campus so that we will still be located close to the SMH Oncology clinic,” said Diane Madden, cancer center executive director. “This building provides the opportunity for larger meeting space for support groups, private consultation areas, staff offices, a dedicated room for patients to use for creative arts, and a meditation room for patients to hopefully find a moment of peace during their cancer journey.
Andrea Patstone, president of Stephens Memorial Hospital,m said that the cancer center provides an important service to our patients and community. “We are so grateful for the work that they do and delighted to have the Center conveniently located on our Norway campus,” she said.
Cancer center staff continue to meet with patients by appointment, however they hope to resume weekly drop-in hours and on-site activities soon.
