Spectrum Generations to hold Hallowell, Waterville open houses

AUGUSTA — Spectrum Generations will host an open house barbecue in both Hallowell and Waterville on July 8 and 9.
The Hallowell event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Cohen Community Center, 22 Town Farm Road.
The Waterville event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 9, at the Muskie Community Center, 38 Gold St.
After a year full of obstacles and challenges for Spectrum Generations and the central Maine communities it serves, the organization invites the public to the open house barbecues to mark the official relaunch of all in-person programs and services.
“The last year has been incredibly challenging for Spectrum Generations and the high-risk populations that we serve,” said Gerard Queally, president and CEO of Spectrum Generations. “Over the last year, I have continuously been amazed by the flexibility and determination of our staff and volunteers as we have worked together to find new and creative ways to meet the needs of our community. We certainly learned a lot of valuable lessons that will inform a new and improved delivery of services. Now, with vaccinations widely available and a lowered daily caseload of COVID, we are thrilled to officially open our doors to celebrate the return of full in-person services.”
