BUCKFIELD — Members of American Legion Post 58 gathered at the town’s ware memorials to pay respects to fallen comrades on Memorial Day.
Prayers were said and wreaths were laid at the World War II and Vietnam memorials in front of the library.
A prayer was also said as a floral tribute was deposited in the Nezinscot River in memory of all service members lost at sea.
A small group of spectators were in attendance and then followed the group, first to Damon Cemetery and then to Lowell Cemetery. Taps were played at all three locations.
