NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group continues its spring season with a First Friday Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 4, at the Main Street Gallery, 426 Main St.
The gallery exhibits the work of artists and artisans living and working in western Maine. The featured artist for June is Melanie Tornberg of Norway and Bethel.
The exhibit will feature floral works that celebrate the colors and beauty of springtime gardens. Tornberg began her artistic training as a child as a student at the Western Maine Art Group and continued her education in the BFA program at the University of New Hampshire with painters John Laurent and John Hatch.
For the past five years, she has been president of the Western Maine Art Group. Begining in June, the Main Street Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
