WILTON — The Wilton Blueberry Festival Board of Directors has announced that the 28th Wilton Blueberry Festival has been canceled.
The board said it made the decision with profound sadness. “This decision was not easy, as much thought was used when assessing the CDC COVID-19 guidelines which remain in place today,” said Shannon Smith, festival chair. “It is impossible to manage the restrictions within a public setting.”
A full refund will be initiated to those who made contributions in 2020. Additionally, Smith will retire after the conclusion of her commitments.
The festival, which was also not held last year, was planned for Aug. 6 and 7.
