MONMOUTH — The 35th annual May Faire, a community event sponsored by Friends of Cumston Public Library, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22.
The Friends of Cumston Public Library plant sale will also be held during the fair.
The events will be held rain or shine. All activities will be outdoors. All proceeds support programs of Cumston Public Library.
The fair features include lobster rolls, hamburgers and hot dogs. There will be activities for children and several community groups and local artisans will have offerings. Don’t forget the bake sale by the ladies from the United Church. Gently used books will also be sold.
A special addition to this year’s event is the distribution of 150 trees by the Monmouth Conservation Commission. This is part of Maine’s Bicentennial celebration.
The plant sale will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location. Donated perennials from local gardens will be available for sale, as well as annuals from Ginger Bread Farms.
Donations of perennials plants are appreciated. Donated plants can be left at the Cumston Hall parking lot from Thursday, May 20 to Saturday, May 21. Label plants with the plant name and the color of blossoms, if applicable. Hostas, rhubarb, bleeding hearts, irises and herbs are always good sellers.
