BETHEL — For anyone interested in learning more about birds but not ready to join a guided bird walk, the new Valentine Farm Birding Trail is a perfect solution.
The trail will have a grand opening from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 15, at Mahoosuc Land Trust’s Valentine Farm at 162 North Road.
The self-guided activity will help walkers identify and learn about birds at their own pace. Becca Hoskins, Mahoosuc Land Trust’s artist in residence, created 25 signs in the shape and color of birds commonly found at Valentine Farm. The bird images have been placed in the habitat where the birds occur.
A free trail guide with clues for finding the signs (and the real birds) will be available. Trail ambassadors will be availaboe to answer questions and give directions. The land trust asks that those attending bring a mask.
