LEWISTON — The Lewiston Farmers’ Market is open for the summer season. and will be held 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in the municipal parking lot on the corner of Lincoln and Main streets, through November, rain or shine.
The market will continue to prioritize meeting people’s food and community needs with safe practices and guidance from the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Market and Department of Agriculture Conservation and Forestry. “We thank all our neighbors and friends for their incredible and continued support during this time by helping us create a welcoming and healthy space for all,” organizers said.
The market will feature fresh vegetables, seasonal fruit, grass fed beef, chicken, lamb, pork, homemade baked goods, maple products, small batch cheese and milk, fresh cut flowers, perennial plants, handcrafted soap, fiber art, crafts, and more. Love music and community programs will be brought back in a safe manner.
Customers can buy their goods with cash, credit, debit, SNAP/EBT and WIC. SNAP/EBT shoppers can continue to access the Maine Harvest Bucks program, which provides users with bonus fresh fruit and vegetables; for every SNAP/EBT dollar you spend you get a coupon back to buy more fresh produce at no extra cost. The market will also run its Market Rewards” program, with customers getting a gift certificate after five visits and the Seniors and Veterans Day program, where those over 62 and veterans get a gift certificate to the market every first Sunday of the month.
