AUGUSTA — The Natural Resources Council of Maine and The Telling Room will hold a special Earth Day celebration with young Maine poets reading their original work inspired by Maine’s environment.
The public is invited to hear their poetry, followed by a conversation about what inspired their work. “Zoom In: Earth Day Youth Poetry Reading and Discussion,” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22.
When news about climate change, pollution, and deforestation feels overwhelming, solace can be found in both poetry and the younger generations — both may lift spirits by injecting fresh perspectives and reminding us why we work so hard to protect the nature of Maine.
