Oakland Scouts raise money for Waterville humane society

Landyn Grenier (above, left) and Reilly Mitchell, of Scout Troop 454, decided that they wanted to do community service and help collect food and raise money for the Humane Society Waterville Area. The Scouts of Troop 454 contacted local businesses in Oakland and asked for permission to hang fliers. They also had a collection bin at school and spent three hours collecting donations after school in front of Buddies Groceries in Oakland. The Scouts raised $300 and a nice little batch of supplies for the humane society. (Submitted photos)
