AUBURN — The Lewiston-Auburn Optimist Club has announced this year’s winners of their local essay contest.
The national topic for this year’s essay was “Reaching your Dreams by Choosing Optimism,” and was open to any participant meeting the requirements. If no local Optimist Club was sponsoring the essay, participants could enter in another cub’s contest.
This year’s winner was Max Kim, of Westport, Conn.; second place was Jesse Ding, of Wilmington, Mass; third place winner was Isabella Webster, a student at Dominic Academy. Kim qualified for the district contest, where he won the $2,500 scholarship for first place.
