AUBURN — The Lewiston-Auburn Optimist Club is sponsoring an oratorical contest on the topic “Healing the World with Optimism.”
The club winner will compete at the district finals, where a $2,500 scholarship will be awarded. Any youth who is under the age of 19 as of Oct. 1, 2020, and meets the other requirements may enter. There is no minimum age limit.
The club contest will be held on March 23.
The oratorical contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to practice and improve on their public speaking abilities. It also provides the opportunity to win a college scholarship.
