Treat Memorial Library has some new stuff for February

LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library’s online catalog has some new features that will help patrons find even more books to love.
While searching titles, look under “extra data” for features such as “About the Author,” “Look Inside,” “Professional Reviews,” “Reader Reviews,” “Awards,” “Tags,” “Reading Level” and “Book Profile.” Best of all, click on “You May Also Like,” to find books that are similar to your favorites.
The library also has a new online program for February. Check the library’s Facebook page at 4 p.m. on Thursdays for “Cultivating Compassion,” which has mindful activities to help people connect with and cultivate compassion for ourselves and for others.
The library will be closed Tuesday, February 16th in observance of President’s Day.
The book club meets over Zoom at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11. Those who would like to participate can get a copy of the book, as well as the Zoom email link to the meeting, from library staff. This month’s book club selection is “Hidden History of Maine,” by Harry Gratwick.
The library shares its favorite titles on its Facebook page at noon, Saturday, Feb. 13 and 27, in Bonkers for Books.
Those missing travel may take a journey in their imagination with the Armchair Traveler Game on Facebook at 1 p.m. every Tuesday. The library provides the continent, date, compass direction and weather. The rest of the journey is yours to decide.
Online Story Time is 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, where staff shares some of their favorite picture books, rhymes, and songs. there will be a special Valentine’s story on Feb. 10.
DIY Style Thursdays is at 4 p.m. on Facebook.
The library is open for browsing and computer use by appointment only Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Everyone must comply with safety guidelines.
Curbside service is available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Log into your account, reserve available items, and library staff will call you to make an appointment for pick up. Patrons may also call the library to reserve. Call 207-897-3631 for more information.
