BRIDGTON — The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club will distribute 5,000 face masks in Health & Wellness packets to local food pantry patrons over the next few weeks.
The club received the second shipment of masks from the Rotary’s Million Mask Challenge, thanks to the generosity of a Connecticut Rotarian who made thousands available to clubs in the district. Children’s masks will also soon be available.
Rotarian Peter Kaurup, of the Oxford Hills Rotary Club, picked up the masks in Portland and the club soon began putting them into packets at the Harrison Food Bank, said Carol Madsen, Covid-19 team coordinator for the Bridgton Club. She said that on most Mondays, Rotarians and friends gather at the Harrison Food Bank to assemble boxes for Harrison and Health & Wellness Packets for Harrison, Bridgton, Naples and Sweden food pantries.
