Cottrell-Taylor Christmast Basket Fund made season brighter for 100-plus kids

MONMOUTH — The Cottrell-Taylor Christmas Basket Fund was able to make the Christmas season a little brither for more than 100 children in 66 families, thanks to the generosity of donors, the Christmas Basket Committee said.
The committee said it expresses its deepest thanks to the 45 local businesses and many, many local families that supported the fund’s mission this year.
“With the generous support of our community, we were able to provide a Christmas dinner, warm clothes and gifts for the children of over 60 families,” fund members said in a news release. “Because of the giving spirit of the people and businesses in our area, we were able to make the Christmas Season a bit brighter for over 100 children in 66 families, and for that we say thank you!”
The Cottrell-Taylor Christmas Basket Fund was established more than 60 years ago in memory of Henry L. Cottrell, a Monmouth principal, and later Robert Taylor, a beloved teacher. Its mission is to provide holiday dinners, warm clothing and gifts for families in Monmouth who are in need during the holiday season.
