Proceeds from Narrow Gauge holiday movie drive-in will benefit new food pantry

FARMINGTON – The Narrow Gauge Cinema will be hosting holiday drive-in showings, with proceeds going to help combat food insecuirty in the area, and matched by Franklin Savings Bank.
“Elf” will be shown Friday through Sunday, Dec. 11-13 and “It’s a Wonderful Life,” Friday through Sunday Dec. 18-20. Shows will be at 6:30 p.m. and admission is $10 per carload.
Proceeds will be donated to a new food pantry planned to open early next year at St. Joseph’s nutrition center. This will be the fourth year that cinema owner John Moore has held an event where ticket proceeds benefit area food pantries.
With increased need in the area, Franklin Savings Bank will match what’s raised by the movies, up to $2,500.
“This is an especially challenging time for our communities,” said bank President and CEO Tim Thompson. “I am in awe at the number of meals being provided by programs throughout our areas. I am thankful that Franklin Savings Bank is able to help support these critically important programs.”
