AUGUSTA — The Natural Resources Council of Maine will hold its 13th annual Polar Bear Dip & Dash virtually in order to comply with social distancing guidelines while raising money to combat climate change.
The goal for the event has been set at $20,000. Every penny raised at the Dip & Dash will go toward clean energy efforts in Maine.
Registration is open at nrcm.salsalabs.org/dipdash/index.html, where participants can select their date, sign up or make a donation in support of the event to be held from Dec. 27 through Jan. 3.
The nonrefundable registration fee to dip, dash or both is $50 until Saturday, Dec. 26. Additionally, friends and family can support the effort through secure web pages at www.nrcm.org/donate/
Fun and engaging contests include:
* Most creative running route
* Best pre- or post-dip photo
* Best pre- or post-run photo
* Best themed outfit
* Most money raised by an individual or team
