BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Easy Riders were recognized by Maine Snowmobiler magazine in the November issue for their March safety check. Maine Game Warden Neil Wykes and and Al Swett, safety chairman of the Maine Snowmobile Association, along with many helping club members, ran the event, said Bill Preis, of the Bridgton Easy Riders. The event was held at Hayes True Value where the ITS 89 trail crosses U.S. Route 302, in Bridgton. Any sled that passed by could voluntarily have a safety check at no charge. About 40 sleds participated and all were properly registered and most were in compliance, Preis said. “A few sleds had burned out brake lights which the owners promised to get fixed. Having a safe sled on the trails is a good thing,” he said. “We hope we can offer another safety check in the future.” Preis said the club is getting the snowmobile trails ready for the winter season and the new trail map will soon be available. The club always welcomes new members, he said. For information on the club, visit its website at bridgtoneasyriders.com/”>bridgtoneasyriders.com [1].
