Treat Memorial Library’s ‘Fall Into Books’ challenge underway

LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library has launched an all-ages book challenge, “Fall Into Books.” Every book particpants read Sept. 1 through Dec. 1 enters them into a drawing for a book prize. The library has picture books, middle grade books, young adult books, and adult fiction to give away.
Those taking part may track thier reading online at treat.beanstack.org or can call the library and a staff member will make an entry in the drawing for you.
In other news, the library has had to remove the planter in front of the library because it contributed to the flooding in the building. The library thanks the highway crew for its removal, as well as John Beaudoin and the volunteer gardeners for keeping the garden so beautiful all these years.
Speaking of thanks, the library also thanks Dean Knapp for the repairs to the book drop. You will notice the next time you drop off your books that it has been spruced up. That’s thanks to Knapp for his time, effort and materials.
Those missing travel may take a journey in their imagination with the Armchair Traveler Game on Facebook at 1 p.m. every Tuesday. The library provides the continent, date, compass direction and weather. The rest of the journey is yours to decide.
Online Story Time is 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, where staff shares some of their favorite picture books, rhymes, and songs. The Halloween Spooktacular will be a live stream on Facebook this year. Tune in at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, for spooky stories and songs to celebrate the Halloween season.
Those looking for book recommendations can tune into Facebook at noon on Saturday, Oct. 10 and Oct. 24, for Bonkers for Books. It’s a great opportunity to check out what’s new in the catalog and which books the staff is loving lately.
