Belgrade Public Library no longer requires appointment

BELGRADE — Belgrade Public Library patrons no longer require an appointment to visit the library.
The library is now open to up to five patrons simultaneously, although only one family at a time will be allowed in the children’s area. Patrons will be allowed up to 30 minutes in the library. Librarians may extend that, depending upon public demand at any given moment.
All library visitors and staff must wear masks in keeping with the state mandate. Books will continue to be returned in the outside metal bin. Books are stored for four days following their return to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Patrons are also encouraged to be mindful to practice safe social distancing.
The Board of Selectpersons voted unanimously Aug. 25 to loosen the restrictions at the library. The new procedures will be reviewed regularly by the Library Board of Trustees.
The Belgrade Public Library is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The library also offers online resources, including a digital catalog and ebooks. For more information about the library, visit www.townofbelgrade.com/library”>townofbelgrade.com/library.
