LEWISTON — One of the most popular Senior College classes offered by USM L/A Senior College on Zoom this spring took a group of birders to Monhegan Island, as well as other prime birding venues.
The close-up sightings of birds were better than looking through binoculars. Thanks to Doug Hitchcox of Maine Audubon, the class was able to enjoy an almost-outdoor experience with valuable and fascinating information.
Senior College offerings will be on Zoom again this fall. The classes are for anyone older than 50 with a curiosity for learning. As most of you know, Zooming has become an in thing and many people are trying it, but some of us are still a bit hesitant. There will be Zoom trainings and follks to call for help for those who would like to take part in Senior College.
Fall classes will be listed soon. Registration begins Aug. 17, and the classes start Sept. 21. For more information, visit usm.maine.edu/seniorcollege.
