LEWISTON — The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave., recently announced the winners of its annual summer raffle. With more than $13,300 in tickets sales the winners were Irene Marshall of Monmouth, $500; Donna Cote, Mechanic Falls, $300; Suzanne Calnan, Lewiston, $200; and Mona Guertin, Sabattus, $100. All proceeds from the raffle directly benefit the humane society.
The shelter provides a safe haven for more than 3,500 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area per year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations of concerned citizens.
