Auburn dessert bar wins New Ventures mini-grant

AUBURN — Top It Frozen Dessert Bar has been selected as New Ventures Maine’s spring 2020 Western Marketing Mini-Grant recipient. Top It Frozen Dessert Bar was selected from a strong group of applicants from Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, new ventures said in a news release.
Top It Frozen Dessert Bar was founded in 2013 by Corrie Bernatchez. It offers frozen yogurt with up to 30 toppings and other frozen desserts. The business is currently offering online ordering, curbside pick-up service and a mobile cart that is available to rent for events and gatherings of 50 or fewer. Indoor seating at the Main Street Auburn location is scheduled to reopen on July 1.
Top It Frozen Dessert Bar is being impacted from COVID19 by the cancellation of the Balloon Festival and other community events in Lewiston-Auburn area. The $1,000 award from the New Ventures Maine Marketing Mini-Grant will be used towards a radio advertising campaign this summer. The funds from this mini-grant will enhance their current marketing plan strategies and connect with new customers.
New Ventures Maine’s Marketing Mini-Grant program aims to strengthen access to markets for micro-businesses. The program supports the development of marketing tools, materials, and activities. Norway Savings Bank helps to support the program.
A statewide organization serving all 16 Maine counties from 10 centers and outreach sites, New Ventures Maine offers skill development and support in the areas of career planning, entrepreneurship and financial management.
