Music for Mavis Tuesday at the Gazebo series kicks off

TURNER — The Music for Mavis Tuesday at the Gazebo summer concert series will kick off July 7, with some alterations, “addressing our needs for community and caring,” organizers say.
Concerts will run through the end of September. If things go well, organizers are also considering an October Saturday or Sunday mid-day concert.
This year’s concert series will look like this:
* Tuesday Gazebo hours will remain 6:30 to 8 p.m. through Augusta, 6 to 7:30 p.m. in September.
* Everyone should sit with those they rode in with and also establish and maintain at least a six-foot distance between fellow music lovers. The sound is beautiful all the way across the field, beyond the playground. Raise your hand if you need the sound to go up.
* Masks are encouraged, and if you feel vulnerable or compromised, cautious or extra careful of yourself and others, wear your mask.
* No one may approach the band or Gazebo. “We are fortunate we have musicians who are coming to bring us music,” organizers said. “We do not know who everyone is looking out for in their families and friends. So maintain distance and respect please.”
* There will be a donation announcement. Traditionally, a hat is passed. This summer, there will be a big milk can for donations on the approach to the music field, near the parking lot. Be sure to maintain distancing when making your donation. This will be how the band is acknowledged, and lets organizers know people want music.
* Stay home if you don’t feel well, or have possibly been exposed to the virus.
* There is no rain venue.
* Bring a chair, bring a blanket.
