Morse Library reopens with a grant for new maker space

GREENE — Morse Library has reopened, with some good news to share. The Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation has donated $9,000 to the library for the creation of a maker space, which will add technology and craft items to the library’s collection.
Additionally, some of the money will allow for author visits and other programs once the community can gather safely again.
“Having these funds enables our library to be more flexible in meeting the needs of our community,” said Library Director Kelli Burnham.
Library Trustee Christine Gianopoulos said, “Libraries want to offer more than traditional book lending and to create space for groups and activities. This is a great start and we’re very excited to have this opportunity. More families are finding our library and these funds will supplement the generous support the library receives from the town of Greene.”
The Summer Reading program is open to all ages. Readers can log their books using Beanstack. Local residents can register for the program at jammlibrary.beanstack.org/reader365.
