Several ways to help out Belgrade-Room Food Pantry, area seniors

BELGRADE — The Rome/Belgrade Special Needs Food Pantry continues to provide food to needy families from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the North Belgrade Community Center, 508 Smithfield Road (Route 8).
There are three easy ways anyone who wishes may contribute to the effort:
* Food items may be brought to the Belgrade Town Office, 990 Augusta Road, and left on the back porch (the left, or north, side of the building). Call 207-495-2258 or text 207-592-6031 to alert someone of the delivery.
* Mail a financial donation to the Rome/Belgrade Special Needs Food Pantry at P.O. Box 236, Belgrade, ME 04917.
* Order a take-out meal from the Snow Pond Arts Center in Sidney. Visit snowpond.org/snow-pond/drive-thru-dinners-at-snow-pond for details. Proceeds benefit area food pantries, including Belgrade and Rome’s.
As a reminder, pantry volunteers ask that residents who are ailing find a substitute to pick up their food. The pantry has instituted a no-touch process to protect clients and volunteers.
The town has also compiled a roster of volunteers willing to help seniors and people with compromised immune systems by delivering groceries. Anyone who would like to make use of the service should email townmanager@townofbelgrade.com or call 207-592-6031.
Additionally, Regional School Unit 18 is providing free breakfast and lunch to schoolchildren who need them from 9 to 11 a.m. weekdays at the North Belgrade Community Center, 508 Smithfield Road.
