A variety of events that had been scheduled for upcoming weeks have been canceled or postponed. Information about how to find out about future events or postponement dates is included when it’s been provided to us.

CATHOLIC CHURCH
Bishop Robert P. Deeley is temporarily suspending all daily and Sunday Masses and religious ervices throughout the Diocese of Portland (covering the entire state of Maine), effective immediately. The bishop is also issuing a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass for Maine Catholics during this time. In anticipation of questions which might arise, baptisms, funerals, and weddings, including with Mass, may continue but only with immediate family present for the Mass.

FARMINGTON
Western Maine Audubon has canceled its April 8 speaking event with Sally Stockwell. It will take place Sept. 9.
University of Maine at Farmington Testing Services Center will close through at least Sunday, April 5. All tests scheduled until April 5 will be canceled. To reschedule a PRAXIS exam, call 1-800-772-9476. For all other exams or additional questions, contact Janice Crandall, testing operations manager, at janice.crandall@maine.edu.

GREENE
Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends Easter Bake Sale and Bottle Drive scheduled for April 10 and 11 in Lewiston has been postponed and will be rescheduled to a later date. The event is one of the biggest fundraisers for the organization, which provides medical care, spay and neutering to feral cats. Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends, P. O. Box 274, Greene, ME 04236.

LEEDS
The April 18 Leeds Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department spring breakfast has been canceled. The department will revisit it in a month or sooner if circumstances warrant it.

LEWISTON
Greater Androcscoggin Humane Society has canceled all special events and activities through March 30, including dog training and socialization classes; yappy hours; March 29 Puppy Yoga; Humane education visits, shelter tours, library visits and nursing home visit have been canceled. LIVERMORE FALLS
Treat Memorial Library will be closed to the public until further notice.The library will revisit the possibility of opening March 30. PARIS
The March 26 Clue Escape Room Fundraiser for Deering Memorial Community Center has been indefinitely postponed.

RAYMOND
Raymond Village Church will not present “Songs and Scenes from Godspell” during Sunday worship as previously reported. The worship service on Sunday, March 22, and all live worship for the immediate future is also canceled. RVCC is exploring the use of virtual tools to provide spiritual support to the congregation and the community as a whole. When the church has finalized plans, it will provide further information.
