Raymond Village Community Church to continue ‘Godspell’ series

RAYMOND — Even as we are all being quite rightly told to “social distance,” Raymond village Community Church, 27 Main St., believes that it is valuable — even necessary — to maintain a worshipful community in the midst of the concerns about Coronavirus for as long as it is safe and prudent to do so, church officials said in news release.
RVCC is planning to continue bringing songs and scenes from the musical “Godspell,” to Sunday services during the remainder of Lent, until circumstances dictate otherwise.
“At its core, Godspell is about the formation and continuation of a loving community based on Jesus’ most fundamental teaching; love your neighbor as yourself,” said RVCC pastor Rev. Nancy Foran. “We believe that with prudent precautions we can offer the community a vibrant, energetic worship experience that can help everyone better navigate these otherwise dark times, providing an important dose of hope, compassion, and positive energy.”
The church sanctuary is large enough that people can maintain a comfortable social distance. The church is making sure that sanitizer is liberally available. Coffee hour is canceled, and church officials ask that anyone who is exhibiting any symptoms of illness, however mild, refrain from attending.
Everyone in the region who loves “Godspell” or is searching to deepen their Lenten experience, particularly this year, is invited to come and be inspired by these unique worships, Foran said.
