Belgrade looks to connect seniors with volunteers to do their shopping

BELGRADE — The town and its Senior Resources Committee are looking to connect volunteers with seniors who need someone to do grocery shopping and delivery for them to minimize their risk of contracting the coronavirus.
Seniors needing such help and volunteers willing to assist are encouraged to call the Town Office at 207-495-2258 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
The town office will also connect residents wishing to check materials out from the Belgrade Public Library and volunteers willing to deliver them. Residents can call the library with a request at 207-495-3508 or email Belgrade@belgrade.lib.me.us. The materials, along with the requestor’s name and address, will be forwarded to a volunteer for delivery. If the requestor doesn’t have a library card, the volunteer will deliver an application for the new cardholder to fill out at that time. Residents can look up available materials at townofbelgrade.com/onlineresources.
The Town Office is closed to the public for the immediate future, as are activities at the Center for All Seasons.
