Forest Fire Protection Commission presentation in Hiram March 28

HIRAM — The Northeastern Forest Fire Protection Compact for joint cooperation in Maine and beyond was initiated after the disastrous wildfires in 1947.
Why haven’t we had another fire like the historic wildfires that year? What if we do? Tom Parent of the Northeastern Forest Fire Protection Commission will shows us why and tells us how it helps us. He will outline a few simple steps to take that can save your house.
This joint program of Hiram Historical Society and Soldiers Memorial Library will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday March 28, at the library, 85 Main St. (Route 117).The event is free and open to the public; light refreshments. For more information, call 207-625-4650.
