FARMINGTON — “A Light in the Darkness” — an Easter musical drama — will be presented at the New Hope Baptist Church, 268 Perham St., Sunday, April 5, and Friday, April 10, at 7 p.m. (Snow date is Sunday, April 12).
This moving fictional story centers around a widow and her disabled son who find help and hope in the Messiah. Woven throughout are the historical events of the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. The intensely exciting plot involving an unscrupulous tax collector, a Roman soldier, a prison escape and fractured family relationships is balanced by two light-hearted characters.
Six original songs, an elaborate set and authentic Biblical costumes round out this family-friendly experience. Admission is free; for more information, 207-778-9696.
