Talk on solar energy slated for Jay Feb. 5

JAY — Sophie Janeway, of the Natural Resources Council of Maine, will speak at the town’s Solar Committee meeting, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the town office, 340 Main St.
The meeting is open to the public, and all those interested in learning about solar energy are encouraged to attend. Janeway is the climate and clean energy outreach coordinator at at the NRC, where she engages and educates Maine people interested in renewable energy, energy efficiency, cleantransportation options, and climate solutions. She has been working with many people over several years to pass state level renewable energy legislation which benefits municipalities and residents alike.
In 2019, the legislature passed several renewable energy policies that Janeway will speak about.
