Chronic deer wasting disease is topic of Feb. 3 discussion

AUGUSTA — A presentation on chronic wasting disease and its impact on deer populations and deer hunting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in the Cumberland Room, Augusta Civic Center.
Presented by Krysten Schuler and Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife deer biologist Nathan Bieber, the presentation is free and open to the public. It will discuss the current status of chronic wasting disease in North America, the impact, the steps MDIFW is taking to prevent the introduction of this disease into Maine and what hunters can do to help.
