‘True Stories and Tall Tales’ in Phillips Jan. 25

PHILLIPS — Plans for the fifth annual “True Stories and Tall Tales” evening are now getting underway at Phillips Area Community Center., 21 Depot St. The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m., starting with a pot luck supper, followed by stories and tales at 6 p.m.
Winona Davenport — story teller, author, reporter and keeper of facts and tidbits about Phillips and its residents — is on the “tale menu” this year. Come and find out what’s in her “Little Black Book.” Other speakers include Rachelle Knight of Dark Star Fabrics in Phillips. For the second year, Teresa Fast, a young teen who captured the audience last year, Bruce Godin and Diana McCall, both very involved with the center, will share some thoughts. Tom Skolfield was also recently added to the list of speakers.
Money raised will help the group maintain the historic building, which many refer to as “The Old Gym.” Admission is $10 per person; $5 for children. Anyone bringing a dish will get in free (one dish per family). Those planning to bring a dish may call Davenport at 207-639-4296. PACC meets the first Tuesday of each month.
