Interactive lobbying for change workshop is Feb. 1 in Winthrop

WINTHROP — “Finding Your Place: Being effective lobbyists and agents for change,” an interactive workshop, will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Friends Meetinghouse, 219 Wintrhop Center Road.
While these political times are discouraging, it’s not a reason to act discouraged. Staying active is a gift that comes from living in faithfulness to our values and beliefs, said workshop organizers. Members of the Kennebec Advocacy Team, made up of members with diverse religious and value-based practicesm will lead the workshop. They have all committed to following the principals of the Friends Committee on National Legislation in order to gain their insight and guidance in being effective lobbyists and agents for change.
Those attending will learn the principal of friendship within conflict, including an opportunity to use stories to make lasting connections.
