Child and Adult Care Food Program serves free meals at a variety of locations

WATERVILLE — The USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program is expanding its focus to provide evening meals available at no separate charge to children ages birth through 18 years.
Eligibility is without regard to race, color, national origin, age, disability, gender, gender identity, religion, reprisal, and where applicable, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation, or all or part of an individual’s income is derived from any public assistance program, or protected genetic information in employment or in any program or activity conducted or funded by the department.
Meals are being served at the following facilities Monday through Friday, starting at 3 p.m.:
* North End Boys & Girls Club, 16 Hillside Ave., Waterville
* South End Teen Center, 5 Libby Court, Waterville
* Alfond Youth & Community Center, 126 North St. Waterville
* Boys & Girls Club of Oakland, Ralph M. Atwood Primary School, 19 Heath St., Oakland.

The program historically offers reimbursements, meal planning guidance and training to help providers serve nutritious meals and snacks to children in their care. The program helps providers stretch budgets, improve quality of care, and serve kids healthy foods – all at no added cost to families.
