BRIDGTON — The Senior College at Bridgton, the community program for those over 50, has announced class for the winter term
Eight two-hour classes are offered, and classes will be from 10 a.m. until noon and run from Jan. 14 to Feb. 6, at the Magic Lantern Tannery Pub. Mail-in registrations are due by Jan. 11. Walk-ins may be admitted if space is available.
The Senior College at Bridgton is the hometown program for anyone 50 years or older in Bridgton and surrounding Lake Region communities. Sessions are in the spring, fall and witner, and designed to appeal to every interest.
Classes are free for anyone who joined, or rejoined, in September. Membership is $20, and allows members to take winter and spring classes for free. Nonmembers who want to take classes pay $5 a class.

Tuesday, Jan. 14 – Cyrus Fields – Laying the First Transatlantic Cable. Presented by Mary Morton Cowan.
Thursday, Jan. 16 Louis Armstrong – An Icon of American Music. Presented by Peter Berry.
Tuesday, Jan. 21 — Vernal Pools. Presented by Alanna Doughty.
Thursday, Jan. 23 — The Poems of Spring. Presented by Ken Gibbs.
Tuesday, Jan. 28 — Fly Away Farm – From Woodlot to Productive Farmstead. Presented by Jenn and Justin Ward.
Thursday, Jan. 30 — The Politics of the Right to Die. Presented by Alan Schechter.
Tuesday, Feb. 4 — U.S. Global Engagement & the Military. Presented by John Doughty.
Thursday, Feb. 6 — Classic Movies – Key Largo. Presented by Margaret Reimer.
