AUGUSTA — The Knox-Lincoln and Kennebec County Soil & Water Conservation Districts will host a meeting of the Local Working Group for Lincoln and Kennebec counties from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Whitefield Fire and Rescue Building, 26 Townhouse Road, Whitefield.
The meeting is being held in partnership with the Augusta field office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and will gather local resource concerns to make recommendations to NRCS on how to spend USDA Farm Bill money for conservation practices on private land in fiscal year 2021.
The meeting is open all and particularly to agricultural producer foresters, loggers and private woodland owners, as well as members of environmental or watershed organizations or land truts and those knowledgeable in soil, water, plant, wetland or wildlife sciences or are familiar with agricultural and natural resource concerns in Lincoln or Kennebec counties.
