MONMOUTH — Donations are beeing sought for the Cottrell-Taylor Chiristmas Basket Fund, wich helps provide holiday dinners, warm clothing and Christmas gifts for Monmouth families in need.
The Cottrell-Taylor Christmas Basket Fund was established more than 50 years ago in memory of Henry L. Cottrell, a Monmouth principal, and later Robert Taylor, a teacher.
The Cottrell-Taylor Committee was able to help 70 families, including 117 children, and several elderly couples through contributions last year.
In addition to money, the committee accepts new clothing, mittens, hats, gloves, games, puzzles, school supplie, and books for kids of all ages. Donations can be left at one of the Monmouth schools. To donate money, write a check to the Cottrell-Taylor Christmas Basket Fund, if possible before Dec. 9, though donations will be accepted after that date.
