Campbell’s artwork on exhibit at CV library through December

CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The artwork of Karen Campbell will be exhited at Carrabassett Valley Public Library & Community Center in November and December.
There will be a wine and cheese reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, so those attending may meet the artist and celebrate her art.
Campbell is a Maine native who enjoyed a creatively encouraged upbringing that led her to design her own line of jewelry. KC’s Jewelry was established in 1987. In September 2001, feeling burnout of repetitive jewelry production, Campbell turned to watercolor. She has studied with Stan Kierstead, Marni Lawson, Carol Sebold and Michael Vermette. Her whimsical eye and creative spirit spent years consumed by watercolor.
From watercolor, she moved on to encaustic, which is painting with pigmented wax. Recently wire has been her medium.
The library is at 3209 Carrabassett Drive and is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Visit carrabassettvalley.org/public-library for information.
