Rambunctious Red Hatters will hold toy drive to benefit Salvation Army Nov. 22

AUBURN — The Rambunctious Red Hatters group will hold its annual Salvation Army toy drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Auburn Mall, 550 Center St.,
A tree will be set up at the mall’s center court, and the Red Hatters will be accepting unwrapped tous for children of all ages.
The Red Ladies helping to support the Salvation Army are members of several area chapters, including The Driven “10”, Windy Winers, Hollyberries, Sea Sisters, Foxy Gals, Midcoast Moosepathians, Curvey Q’s, Royal Purple Misfits, Chickadee Roses, Ruby Red Jewels, Magnificent Millbrook Mavens, Le Chapeau Rouge, Rockland Fuddy Duddys, Foxy Ladies and Strawberry Shortcakes and Sparkling Angelic Divas.
The Rambuncious Red Hatters from Lewiston, Auburn, Mechanic Falls and surrounding areas was the original chapter started 14 years ago; however, for a variety of reasons, the group disbanded. Those still interested in participating in a Red Hatters group found many from which to choose. These other groups recognized the need and agreed to keep the project going.
During the drive, Christmas music will be played by 8th Street Entertainment, and there will be raffles, with 50% of the proceeds going to the Salvation Army.
