LEWISTON – Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Lunch Club recently presented two awards during their end-of-the-year banquet to area students, acknowledging their volunteer efforts.
“In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity,” said past Rotary president Monica Millhime. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities and inspires those around them to take action.”
Millhime presented the gold service awards to Madeleine Tiner, 2019 graduate of Poland High School, for 285 hours in the young adult category, and Abigail Martel, a student at St. Dominic Academy in Auburn, in the teen category for her 106 volunteers hours.
