Lewiston personal confidence, budgeting free workshops set

AUGUSTA — Starting in October, New Ventures Maine will offer a tuition-free workshops that will help participants get a handle on finances and personal power.= in Lewiston
The classes are open to all adults. Anyone who is interested in bolstering confidence and feeling more empowered and included, or in gaining a better grip on personal money management is welcome.
“Building Confidence,” a hands-on class intended for people who are ready to tap more of their potential, will run for three consecutive Thursdays at Lewiston’s USM campus. Body language, taming fears, mindfulness and retraining the inner critic are all addressed. The class helps participants own their voice and build confidence, which are key to lessening anxiety and achieving goals, organizers said. It runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays Oct. 10 to 24.
Money tracking, identifying wants and establishing effective money habits are all explored with the goal of getting participants closer to where they want to be financially. “Budgeting Basics” is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 and “Good Money Habits” is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 5, at Lewiston High School.
