Members brought in gently used clothing to be sold at $1 a piece, raising $405, with all donations going to the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen, on Water Street, Augusta.
Bread of Life provides food to those in need who don’t have the means to provide for themselves. Bread of Life is run by donations and volunteers, making homemade meals a few times a day.
One of Sew Fit Wellness members volunteers every week to help pass out meals.
The clothes that were left over from the week-long sale were donated to the Randolph United Methodist Church Clotes Closet, which operates out of the Knights of Columbus building, Spring Street, Gardiner. The Clothes Closet was started by one of the Sew Fit Wellness members to help those in need with free or inexpensive clothing.
