Greater Androscoggin Humane Society receives major donation

AUBURN — Health Affiliates Maine recently presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with an employee-raised donation of $2,000 plus pet supplies. The money and supplies were raised by its employees through various fundraising efforts.
“We’re excited to donate our fundraising efforts to such a worthy organization,” said Kate Marble, Case Management Program Director of Health Affiliates Maine. “The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society and their volunteers work non-stop to save, protect and better the lives of animals and the community members who adopt them.”
The $2000 donation and various supplies including food, treats and bedding, will go toward the care of animals housed at the shelter.
Health Affiliates Maine employees raise funds for several local organizations throughout the year through various in-office and external fund raising efforts including bake sales, “Jeans Days” — where employees pay to wear jeans to work — and photo contests. So far this year, Health Affiliates Maine employees have raised $4,300 to donate to local organizations. A statewide agency, Health Affiliates Maine provides services and support to Mainers affected by mental health and substance abuse issues.
