American Red Cross blood drives have been scheduled for August in Lisbon and Lewiston.
The Lisbon United Methodist Church will host a blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the church, 14 School St.
LA Metro Chamber hosts Aug. 19 blood drive
The LA Metro Chamber of Commerce will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the chamber office, 415 Lisbon St.
In light of recent national disasters, including hurricanes and forst fires, on top of day-to-day emergencies, the need for donors to help save lives by donating blood and platelets is accute, the Redo Cross said in a news release. The Red Cross relies on communities to help ensure sufficient blood supplies for patients.
Those who would like to donate may schedule an appointment online at www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Specifiy that it’s at Lisbon United Methodist Church or LAMETRO were indicated.
