Vienna Woods Players present ‘Musical Comedy Murders’ Aug. 2, 3

VIENNA — The Vienna Woods Players will perform “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” on Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3, at Vienna Union Hall.
Written by John Bishop, the play revolves around a wealthy patron of the arts who hopes to reveal the murderer of three chorus girls by inviting suspects to audition for still another show.
Although this is the first production as the newly organized Vienna Woods Players, much of the cast — which includes actors from Vienna, Mount Vernon, Wilton, Farmington, Rome and Portland — has been performing together for nearly 20 years.
The cast includes Delaney Crocker, Elizabeth Bransky, Chris Crocker, Tim Davis, Stephen Linder, Allison Kuhns, Andre Nile, Jan Collins, Rocio Carey, Don Petersen and Nate Kane.
Karla Arceneaux, Dodi Thompson and Janet Roderick are assisting with production. June Cauldwell assembled costumes and Greg Cauldwell constructed the set.
It is directed by Cheryl Herr-Rains.
“The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” will be at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $10, $5 for children under 12. Tickets can be reserved until 6:40 pm (1:40 matinee) by emailing firemarks@fairpoint.net by Wednesday, July 31, with the number of tickets requested for which performance.
The Vienna Union Hall is at 5 Mountain Road, off Route 41.
