AUBURN — Children and their families will listen to stories, create a holiday-themed craft, have a parade in the library and celebrate America’s birthday with cake at a party at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Auburn Public Library.
The Wallace family — Gabrielle and Sean Wallace of Auburn, their children Hadley and Sophie, now college students, and Gabrielle’s mother, Pat Masonheimer, will host the “Happy Birthday America” story time with cake and a parade. All are welcome.
The Wallace family is well-known to APL patrons. They have been providing the July 4 party, as well as the library’s Gingerbread House event in December, for at least 15 years. Masonheimer is a long-time educator, having taught at Central Maine community Colege as well as tutoring hockey players from the Lewiston junior teams. The family has volunteered their time and energy to the library for many year.
