Mollyocket Chorus to open Bridgton church summer concerts June 9

BRIDGTON — The First Congregational Church of Bridgton will host the Mollyockett Chorus of the Sweet Adelines at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.
It will be the third year in a row the Sweet Adelines have kicked off the church’s Summer Sunday Concert Series, which is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the performance.
The chorus sings a cappella in four-part harmony and its repertoire includes ballads, show tunes, popular music and spirituals. The theme of this year’s performance is “50’s Music and Memories.” The chorus is under the direction of Simon Smith.
More Summer Sunday Concerts are scheduled for July, August and September. Details will be published later.
The Mollyockett Chorus has completed 23 years as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International and rehearses from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the First Universalist Church of Norway, 479 Main St. Norway.
