LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library, 56 Main St., will be offering a space-themed summer reading program — A Universe of Stories — kicking off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22.
The kick-off will feature games, food, prizes and crafts. For every book or 30 minutes of reading, come to Treat Memorial Library and add a star to the galaxy. Readers also will be able to earn prizes along the way when they drop in to participate in a variety of summer activities.
The library will offer preschool story time, featuring stories, interactive activities and a craft, Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
“Lost my Stitches,” a knit/crochet group, meets Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. New and experienced knitters and crocheters of all ages are welcome, and Lego Club will begin Saturday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m. This month’s challenge will be to design a space station to go along with our Universe of Stories theme
Book Group will begin a series of banned or frequently-challenged books this summer. The first book discussion will be held June 13 at 3 p.m. Up first is Sherman Alexie’s “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian;” let staff know if you would like a copy of the book up for discussion.
The library staff would like input to help them crafts more meaningful programs, and a short anonymous survey will be available at the library, on Facebook and via email.
